Network 10 to axe The Project after 16 years

The long-rumoured cancellation was confirmed by the network, with a new national news and current affairs show slated to take over the 6 pm slot. Deal or No Deal will shift to 7 pm, while 5 pm local bulletins will continue as usual.
The network has yet to reveal full details of the replacement program, but former 7 News journalists Amelia Brace and Denham Hitchcock are reportedly involved following recent hires. Hosts Waleed Aly, Sarah Harris, and Hamish Macdonald are expected to exit the network after the show’s conclusion.
