The agency’s growth marketing arm, SW Growth Labs, will drive performance marketing, SEO, and media strategy, while SW Creative leads content, influencer, and social initiatives. As instant photography sees a revival among Gen Z and Millennials, the new partnership aims to scale brand presence in India through a full-funnel, digital-first approach, combining data-driven strategies with standout storytelling. Danika Johnston named director of commercial partnerships at The Guardian

  The Guardian has appointed Danika Johnston as director of commercial partnerships for Australia and New Zealand, starting 16 June 2025. Johnston brings extensive media experience, having held senior roles at Nova, Mamamia, SBS, TikTok, and most recently as Australian managing director of UK-based platform WeAre8. Known for building high-performance teams and long-term partnerships, she will now oversee The Guardian’s advertising division, including sales, operations, branded content, and insights. She will report to managing director Rebecca Costello, who said Johnston’s leadership, innovation, and passion for purpose-driven media align strongly with The Guardian’s mission. Johnston expressed excitement about joining a brand known for its balance of performance and purpose, saying she looks forward to scaling its legacy of impactful content and partnerships.
