The Australian has announced a reshape of its political team as they aim to "break the nation’s biggest stories and deliver the country’s most authoritative federal political coverage".
Geoff Chambers has been appointed Political Editor, Greg Brown has been promoted to Chief Political Correspondent, newsroom leader Richard Ferguson will become Canberra Bureau Chief and award-winning journalist Ellie Dudley has been elevated to the critical position of National Chief of Staff.
Simon Benson, who has been a leading political journalist in Australia for decades, has chosen to step back from day-to-day reporting and will focus on political commentary and analysis, penning a new weekly column for The Australian and contributing to The Weekend Australian’s Inquirer sec...
